You are welcome to hang out at Mibbit. You might want to choose your own nickname first, so here's a quick guide to how to do that.
- First of all, choose a nickname and a password. Then type in /nick <nickname>.
- Now register the nickname with NickServ. NickServ is a bot that helps with these sorts of things. Just type /msg NickServ register <password> <emailadress>, where <password> is the password you want to use (this is per server).
- You'll probably want to be able to log in again with that nickname later. Just connect, change nickname to the nickname you registered with /nick <nickname> and type in /msg nickserv identify <password>. You can also add that nick and password to the "My Account" list to be auto-identified (only if you are logged into the non embedded version).
- If you get on the server (after registering) and someone else has taken your name: type in /msg NickServ GHOST <username> <password> to kick the user from your nickname. Then type /nick <username> to change your nick back!
You can also do '/msg NickServ help' or '/ns help' for extensive help (some servers use /nickserv ... though).
