The Mibbit servers have various load balancing methods and functions, so as to give all Mibbit users a consistent experience. By using the primary server names for the different types of connections, you are assured that you will be placed on the most appropriate server that best suits both of our needs.
In this way, Mibbit can also schedule upgrades and minimize downtime for all users, by directing users to appropriate servers in anticipation of such down time.
chat.mibbit.com
This is the primary Mibbit Client DNS ("RoundRobin"). When you connect to it, the load balance will redirect you to one of the Client servers.
