Webpage / Web Interface

URL to a channel won't work if the channel name has characters that need URL encoding.

Example : http://www.mibbit.com/chat/?server=irc.quakenet.org&channel=%23insens%E9

  • The time-stamps are only partially obscured in some web browsers. --Wgsilkie 08:19, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Preferences

  • If you preform a /msg command, the output won't appear on your own screen. It sends correctly though. Considered a bug, rather then a missing feature. --Jokou 11:28, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Both Clients

  • Sound not working on Firefox 3.0.4 on Windows 2000 (Hercule), XP, Vista
    • Google's Chrome (0.4.*) also having the same problem. User:Salman -- Fixed in Chrome(1.*)--Jokou 21:55, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
  • When kicking/banning someone, if link is at end of the message the last bracket is part of the link causing the link to not work. --Zuwer 22:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
  • When a user gets banned from the server (G-Lined, Z-Lined, etc.), the Closing Link (reason why they got banned) is not being shown. --TheCainer 13:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
  • If you fill a line up to the max length (easiest on Twitter), you can add more with Upload file, Pastebin, or Minify URL, though only just those URLs. --Havvy 08:44, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
  • PS3 browser doesn’t send return presses to the input box (neither with a wired keyboard or the on-screen keypad), there needs to be a visible button to push to send the message -- Johndrinkwater 21:38, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Main Client

  • Attempting to add more than one IRC server with the same address silently fails on the "Account" screen. Setting up multiple connections to the same server is needed for bouncers such as ZNC. --Sduensin 04:19, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
  • Joining a channel at times, fails to happen during initial connection. A /cycle #chan is needed to fix it.
  • Twitter "Auto connect (checked)" only works on "Login" (and manually in account) but not on "open the page" (at least on my slow 14KB/s connection).--Hercule 17:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Sending the /names command causes the client to open every channel on the network. This can obviously bog down and crash a browser on a network like Freenode or OFTC. The appropriate action should be to list out the names of everyone in a channel (whether into the network tab or into the channel tab (preferred)) or to ignore the command. See http://www.new2chat.com/ircmds.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_Relay_Chat_commands#NAMES. --Fuzztooth 21:36, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Sending a video link shows a small preview for all other Client users but not the sender him/herself. --DaveKap 20:24, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Search results (from Home tab) not color of rest of Client Tabs
  • If image in topic bar, top half of image is shown, but text is hidden due to positioning. Possible solution is to not parse images in topic bar.
  • Auto-connect (with all wanted channels checked) only opens the first channel on the list. -- H4XG33K 10/7/09
    • not a bug: all autoconnect channels (per network) must be in the same row (separated by commas) --Hercule 19:28, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Widget

  • when the widget is loaded through an IFRAME, there are scrolling problems with Firefox if the frame is hidden and shown again via display:none/block --null0 10/16/2009
  • autoaway value is ignored (debug shows them as loaded correctly). --Hercule 15:32, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
  • Change default charset from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-* dont work. ISO-8859-* is displayed in the manager but it's always UTF-8 (or another) in the widget.--Elianor 00:38, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
  • "TypeError: google.ads.Ad is not a constructor" --Coolsilver 12:53, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Error: "'GControl' not defined", when loading the widget in a iframe and visiting the page with IE on WinXP --DrLnet 06 march 2009
  • Can't seem to reproduce but one pm log has all the others messages one after the other in time order followed by mine i.e. 12.01 <Other> blah 12.03 <Other> blah blah 12.05 <Other> blah Blah blah 12.02 <Me> hlab 12.04 <Me> hlab hlab 12.06 <Me> hlab Hlab hlab. When it should be 12.01 <Other> blah 12.02 <Me> hlab 12.03 <Other> blah blah etc. Lanser 11:26, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
  • If you reduce height of IE6 window then javascript error appear when chat window reaching no height: image (czech windows) --Rotacak 15:09, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
  • seems like chartset settings not work at all, because if I set it to windows 1250, or UTF8 or any other and then send this text "ěščřžýáíé" in mIRC appear always this same mess "ěščřžýáíé" regardless on selected chartset. Btw, mIRC working with windows 1250. --Rotacak 00:56, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
  • Some users using the widget within an "iframe" in IE8 (in Compatibility mode) and IE7 report that the interface becomes largely blacked out and unusable after signing in, though the same widget is fine if loaded directly into the full browser window. It seems this bug did not always exist but has been introduced at some stage. Jcpren 20:25, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
    • those web pages most probably are missing a correct "strict" doctype, see Widget#Linking_Through_Iframe --Hercule 22:42, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
      • Many thanks for that suggestion, which does indeed seem to fix this problem. However, am I not right in thinking that "iframe" tags are invalid in "strict" HTML, and that, therefore, it would be better to label the page with a "transitional" doctype? My initial testing suggests that would cure the problem just as well. --Jcpren 12:11, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

manager

  • load skins: results are toally different from Prefs->Skins screenshots. Fonts are not loaded (but Times instead: chat window Topic bar, chat input options etc), chat output-> "Time column" & "Nick column" are not unchecked, bg-images are not loaded etc. --Hercule 15:32, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
  • the generated widget link for a preview is broken for server=irc.mibbit.net atm! you need to use http://widget.mibbit.com/?bypassredirect&settings=... for seeing the effect of the changes. --Hercule 15:39, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
  • IE6
    • Logout sometimes doesn't work (no reaction)
    • PrefsWidget preview form, checkboxes: changes don't update the link (only after changing a different checkbox)--Hercule 15:54, 29 November 2008 (UTC), still not working :(

Wiki

I am not receiving the confirmation email requested from http://wiki.mibbit.com/index.php/Special:Confirmemail. --Rgsteele 21:39, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Not a bug

  • The UI does not prevent you from adding two entries on the "My Channels" page with the same server name, even though only the first one will be processed. --Rgsteele 16:29, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
    • It's a good thing IMHO to have several lines to be able to decide which group of channels to join. --Hercule 10:28, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
      • Maybe I did not explain the issue I am having very well. If I set up two entries on the "Channels" tab that refer to the same server, and I set them both to Auto-Connect, only the first one will actually auto-connect. Would this not be considered a bug? It is not immediately obvious that you can add more than one channel name to a given server entry, so anyone who tries to add multiple server entries for one server and set them all to auto-connect (as I did) will encounter this issue.
        • It is even explained on the "Channels" page: To join several channels, separate them with a comma - eg "#foo,#bar". --Hercule 09:12, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Some options of the translator don't work, e.g. Thai. -- Alternativo 03:56, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Cannot send to channel

I found bug that server is not informing me that my message is not delivered to channel! If user get on canal he didn't know that he's message is not delivered. Is there any hanling of errors about delivering messages? On Other'c clients is working (like irssi or mirc) i get message 'Cannot send to channel' directly on channel. -Villemo 11:31, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

  • This only seems to be the case in the widget. It seems to be caused because most raw-messages are not being shown, while they get printed in the status-screen when you use the main client. There are also other messages that are not being shown this way. This combined with the fact that Mibbit doesn't show the modes of a channel, people have no way of knowing wether their message got delivered or not. --TheCainer 13:39, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
