In order to connect to Twitch IRC, you must have three pieces of information:
 +
 +
* The name of channel that you want to join.
 +
* A Twitch account.
 +
* An OAuth token from API or from a site utilizing the API such as TwitchApps (http://www.twitchapps.com/tmi)
 +
 +
Once you have that information, you can then take it to connect to Twitch IRC with the following bits of information:
 +
 +
The server name to connect to is: irc.twitch.tv.
 +

 +
The port to connect to is 6667 (note: ports 443 and 80 generally will work, but are not supported for external connections). For Mibbit you don't need to include it in server string.
 +

 +
SSL is not supported for Twitch IRC.

Europe: arcor.de.eu.dal.net , matrix.de.eu.dal.net
+
Your nickname must be your Twitch username / handle - this goes in mibbit account tab Nick field

US: masters.ix.us.dal.net , novel.fl.us.dal.net , punch.va.us.dal.net , riga-r.ca.us.dal.net , rumble.fl.us.dal.net , swiftco.wa.us.dal.net
+
Your password should be an OAuth token. You can get your OAuth token here http://www.twitchapps.com/tmi
 +
 +
An example "password" using this method would be "oauth:asdasd234asd234ad234asds23" without quotes. This goes in mibbit account tab "pass" field and set "Auth Method" box field to "NickServ"

If you get connected type /j #desiredChannel

Basically, if you get in you are in, otherwise you get the "[[Too many connections]]..." or any other error message like "Bad username". Try IRC.Undernet.org or EU.Undernet.org . From time to time all Mibbit clients are "Automatically banned for excessive connections" (for 24 hours).
 +
* [http://www.undernet.org/ UnderNet] has their own [http://www.undernet.org/webchat.php java client].

Sometimes http://widget.mibbit.com/?server=irc.dal.net&channel=%23desiredChannel works even if mibbit.com/chat/ fails (and vice versa).
